SOLO/DUET - COMMISSION
PERFORMANCE
You will explore
and experiment with various texts/stimuli of your own choosing that will
explore the theme of human migration. The starting point for this work should be the current
migration crisis but could and should also explore this theme in its widest
sense it could take one particular aspect of the contemporary migrant crisis or
incidents of human migration through recent history. It could explore our
attitudes to this or the individual stories of those caught up in such an
event. Try to find unusual and unspoken voices and narratives within this
theme.
What counts as
stimulus: Photographs, painting, poems, novel, autobiography, newspaper
articles, music, video/film/documentary
footage, statistics or reports. You should probably settle on 2 or 3 pieces.
You should
undertake full contextual research in developing your piece. You should
consider the effect you would like the piece to have on an audience. This
research will from part of your portfolio and a copy should be submitted when
you perform.

rehearse the piece making appropriate creative choices regarding space,
costume, props and sound. You will perform this piece communicating your role
effectively to the audience and applying suitable physical performance
skills.

between 3 and 6 minutes in length.
